All washable nappies are made up of two components - some sort of waterproof outside, and something in the middle to soak up urine. If waterproof outside and absorbent bit are joined so that the nappy is 'one item' they are called ALL-IN-1's. If the absorbent part and the waterproof outside (the Wrap) are separate then the next difference is whether the inside is shaped so that it fits like a disposable or it is essential a flat nappy which is folded to suit. The latest thing is the Pocket ALL-IN-1 - because you fill a pocket with whatever you choose to provide absorbency. Although not strictly ALL-IN-1's you can make up the nappy before you need to use it so that you (or your childminder, granny etc) can use it like an ALL-IN-1, but it has the benefit that you can seperate out the component parts for washing - making drying much easier. See Pockets for the latest Happy Heinys There are pros and cons to each type of nappy - one type does not suit everyone which is why there is so much choice. For more details see my Advice pages. If its all just too confusing then Contact Me and I will help you to identify what systems would be best for your particular circumstance. |
